![]() ![]() The auto archive set to daily will not work for me because there are frequently times when I use my gps for multiple activities in one day.īy the way, I do appreciate all of these responses, thank you. The problem is that basecamp is not showing me my separate tracks, just one combined track (not a folder with multiple tracks). With daily auto archiving you'll get a file with just a days track, which again may meet your needs. ![]() It's possible you altered that setting unintentionally. If your archive setting is auto archive switch it to daily. Why you specifically want to do that I also have no idea since BaseCamp will show you your separate tracks and allow you to save them if required. I have no idea why you are seeing a different behaviour now and what I'm suggesting will do what you want. Well there are various ways to skin a cat. My previous way had very little risk of accidentally deleting a track that was not saved. I think that you are assuming correctly and your solution seems like it would work, I had just gotten used to the ease of simply and quickly clearing the "trip computer" screen to start a new track instead of clearing the old track and remembering to save the current track at the end. Try a web search for “etrex 20 revert firmware” and choose a site that has all the firmware versions and provides good instructions for rolling back to an earlier firmware.įor the file or files that you have already saved, you will likely have to edit them in BaseCamp to separate the individual tracks if you have not done so already. The alternative is to clear the Current Track before you start an activity and save it immediately after you finish.Īs far as reverting back to an earlier version, there usually are websites that maintain all the firmware versions for a particular device. Try going to the Track Manager, Current Track, and Save Portion rather than Save Track. If this is the case (and probably if it isn’t), then you what you should try is saving your tracks via the Track Manager. I’ll skip the details, but I will assume that when you view your saved file in BaseCamp that you no longer see three separate tracks, but now see all three of your tracks joined to form a single track. Over the years I have seen Garmin make flip flop on how they log tracks. ATTENTION - you need to first uninstall Garmin Basecamp, Garmin MapInstall, Garmin Express, and any other Garmin Software via Windows Add or Remove Software. So, say I went for a hike, a walk and a bike ride before there would be a separate track file for each of those 3 activities and now they are all combined into a single track file. The files still have the same type of name but will be one long track file for all of the separate activities I have done since i last cleared the gps. I have had this gps for about 2 years and until this started a few weeks ago each activity would show up as its own track/file with a name like "Current Track: 18:12" when uploading from the gps to basecamp. Multiple tracks are ending up as a single file, I guess it is the current track on the gps. Hopefully this is a more clear explanation. Sorry, I am trying to explain things the best I can but I must be using the wrong words for things. So when you say "combined" do you mean that your tracks are joined together to form a single track or that multiple tracks are ending up in a single file? A single gpx file can contain multiple objects (routes, tracks, waypoints). ![]() Local rural councils have to be forced to act on such matters because they are all run by the local land owners. I would love to form an association working group to stop this criminal behavior. I have even cut a few locks off in my time on illegal gates. If it’s a public road then no gate stops public access and the map should route right through it. Hundreds of thousands of acres ( possible Millions ) of land in Australia is illegally blocked off to the public. Fences and gates across rights of way, reserves, commons and stock routes that should be public access and sign posted as such. There is many gates across access points to public land which give the impression it’s private property when it’s not, this angers me. There is many of these things on the map most in areas not used much but it is blocking routing which could block public access. This is Kanangra lane NSW and it’s a public road but the cattle grid / bollard feature blocks routing along this road in Basecamp and MapSource. Can you give the exact osm link of this feature please? ![]()
